We are bespoke high-end Joinery and furniture makers and are looking for a trainee to assist our current sprayers.
The successful applicant must be self-motivated, have a keen eye for detail and take pride in their work. Must have the ability to work accurately in a busy environment, work well as part of a team, or on their own. Must have initiative and confidence to ask questions for their own personal development and patience to enable a quality finish with sometimes a lengthy preparation process.
Applicants with some background knowledge and experience working on the preparation of items within the timber finishing industry is desirable but is not essential.
Main Objective: To assist Sprayers in production line by preparing wood items to a high finishing standard before being sprayed.
On the job mentor/Supervision will be provided, with progression to sprayer for the right person.
Key responsibilities:
* To sand and prepare wood to a high finishing standard, ready to be sprayed, for Joinery and furniture items, including but not limited to doors, panels, frames.
* Assist to maintain preparation area to ensure walkways are kept tidy and area is functional.
* Store materials away and out of obstruction.
* Help to manoeuvre items when sprayed without being defected.
Personal Attributes
* Attentive to work tasks and ambitious to develop.
* Physically able, thorough, and consistent with quality of work.
* Knowledge of colour mixing, whitewash and staining is desirable.

Requirements:
* Good level of English Language
* Physically able to stand for long periods and Manual Handling essential.
