Optima Contracting Ltd are looking for a Trainee Estimator to join our Optima Special Works Division based in High Wycombe. You will join them on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,000 per annum, alongside the opportunity to work in a well-established and friendly company.

Optima Special Works is a dedicated team of people with two main specialist areas:
– Supporting existing Optima glazed partitioning clients with churn work or maintenance requirements
– Undertaking new partitioning installations
Our area of operation extends across London and the southern counties of England. We provide a diverse range of innovative glass partitioning solutions. All of our products are fully tested and certified for acoustic and structural performance, giving you complete peace of mind.
As our Trainee Estimator, you will provide estimating and secure leads in Optima Special Works as required ensuring that all estimates and enquiries undertaken are priced and prepared in a responsive and timely manner. You will also follow up all estimates with our clients and provide opportunities to secure orders.
Key responsibilities of our Trainee Estimator will include:
– To receive enquiries allocated by either the Estimating Manager or the Divisional Director.
– Taking off quantities where necessary from drawings.
– Scanning in Bills of quantities where available.
– Sending out enquiries for materials and sub-contract items.
– Receiving and evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors.
– Building up the price using either the estimating system.
– Liaising with sales to ensure that any tender presentation, if required, is requested in adequate time.
– Attending sales meetings as required and chase up / follow through any priced projects as discussed in those sales meetings to either an order or a lost job.
– Presenting the price to the either the Estimating Manager or Divisional Director for adjudication.
– Finalising any changes made and submit the price.
– Preparing a weekly report for expected potential orders.
– Maintaining and update OSCA with updates on estimates and their current situation.
– Such other duties as may be required from time to time.
