We are looking for traffic marshall – hand signaller to join HS2 project based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire on a permanent basis.
About The Role
As a handsignaller/ blockroadman, you will be responsible for safely directing the movement of vehicles on a work site. You could also be providing vital recommendations on movement and ensuring this is relayed in a clear manner to all on site.
The job role of a handsignaller/ blockroadman involves the following duties:
– Directing the movement of vehicles on a work site
– Recommending and laying out safe, on-site traffic systems
– Providing clear, correct and safe directions to plant operators
– Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals
– Understanding risks (e.g. blind spots) and how to manage these effectively
– Managing traffic to avoid excessive queuing
– Minimising possible risks to personnel and equipment
– Working on a building site.
Minimum Competencies Required: PTS Network Rail Sentinel Track Safety Card, CSCS card
Working hours: Mon – Fri 07:30 – 17:00; Monday – Friday (1 hour break each day)
Start date: 17/01/2022
Rates: £13.53 ph PAYE for the first 39 hours, then £20.29 ph PAYE for the rest 11 hours.
Overtimes:
Saturdays – First 4 hours at time and a half thereafter double rate applies
Sundays – Double rate.
Additional benefits: 30 days holiday entitlement per year, pension scheme, fully branded PPE, induction
Daily Travel allowance paid per mile or Lodge allowance £41.66 per shift available for candidates located 50 miles away from the job and further.
There will be an induction that you would need to attend prior to starting the job.
You must provide proof of right to work in UK and must pass a drugs and alcohol test.
