About The Role
Manage & oversee Technical Assurance of permanent works design (ASC) and temporary works design (EKFB), to ensure that the design is properly assured and complies with the Works Information including Requirements Management, Verification and Validation (V&V), Departures, Technical Assumptions, Configuration Management and design quality.
Understand the Contract Requirements Technical (CRT), incl. HS2 Standards Baseline & Specification for Civil Engineering Works. Monitor CRT changes & implementation in SEm.
Implement EKFB Technical Assurance Plan, Requirements Management Plan, and relevant parts of the Configuration Management Plan and Design Management Plan.
Manage and oversee the implementation of the ASC Systems Engineering model (SEm) database for managing CRT & CRS.
Ensure appropriate ownership assigned to each Requirement (CRT, CRS), and that those owners progressively populate evidence to demonstrate compliance for TLC4 (Detailed Design). Review & monitor suitability of evidence submitted.
Assist design teams with obtaining Departures, attend Departures Review Forum.
Write technical processes and procedures for management of technical standards & engineering assurance documentation.
Chair and minute Technical Assurance Meetings. Attend other meetings to advise on Technical Assurance (Design) matters.
Review and assist with Technical Assurance deliverables (VVM Plans & Reports, Configuration Status Reports (CSR), L3 certificates, D&V certificates). Oversight and validation that these are being produced correctly.
Administrative support (incl. information transfer) between relevant parties to evidence that the required reviews, commenting and acceptance/approvals have been undertaken.
Undertake surveillance / audits of design teams as necessary, or provide support and evidence during audits by HS2 (Technical Assurance Reviews) or Others in relation to Technical Assurance of the design.
Deputise for Lead Technical Assurance Manager (Design) when required.
Monitor ASC Technical Assurance Performance against KPIs.
About The Candidate
Degree qualification in civil engineering (or relevant equivalent)
Knowledge of design/quality management processes and systems
Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (desirable)
Internal Audit qualification (desirable)
