Roma Black are currently working with a client to recruit a Streetworks Team Leader to join their team in Buckinghamshire.

The purpose of this role is lead the Streetworks Inspections function to ensure compliance with all aspects of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004 and associated Codes of Practices, as it affects Buckinghamshire’s Highway Network.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Streetworks Technician:

To co-ordinate activities of the Streetworks Inspections Team.
Streetworks inspections under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), the Highway Maintenance Act 1980 and the National Code of Practice for Inspections.
To performance manage, co-ordinate and provide support to the Streetworks Inspections team.
Ensure that the National Specification for Reinstatements of Openings in the Highway and the Buckingham Roadworks Permit Scheme have been adhered to.
Gathering and collating evidence in relation to the enforcement of NRSWA and in relation to Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions.
Attend Local and County meetings as required.
Contribute to the development of corporate policies and procedures.
Use a Management System to maintain records.
Consider applications for licences and permits.
Attend site meetings.
Deal with any emergency or potential danger that makes a highway unsafe. Required Skills and Experience of a Streetworks Technician:

New Roads and Street Works Act Accreditation is essential.
Engineering technical qualification or Highways maintenance vocational course would be a distinct advantage.
Previous experience in a supervisory / managerial role is preferred although candidates looking to progress into a managerial role will also be considered.
Experience of working with NRSWA legislation and codes of practice, Highways Maintenance and the Traffic Management Act.
Knowledge of Health and Safety, the local area and roadworks permit schemes.
High level IT and Customer Service skills.
Experience of co-ordinating Street Works, liaising with contractors and site supervision.
