Our client are one of the UK's leading independent builders merchants servicing local builders, contractors and developers. Due to their continued success and expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity as we are recruiting a Stock Manager for one of their top performing branches.
The ideal candidate would need to have previous stock management experience, be confident using their computer software and have good attention to detail when inputting information onto their CRM system. Naturally, you would need to have good working knowledge of all types of building materials and have a good awareness and understanding of the local market place and its competitors.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Check stock delivery details, ensuring correct stock has been delivered in and out
* Check delivery notes for goods returned in Lords Builders Merchants trucks
* Manage ‘Special’ stock with the Transport Manager
* Ensure stock is correctly put away on a daily basis
* Carry out periodic stock checks
* Liaise with management regarding stock levels and ordering
* Report goods required to be ordered to Branch Manager and Buyer
* Ordering specific goods (sand/cement)
* Input stock on computer
* Report any damages to Buyer and Branch Manager
* Manage the minimisation of damages to stock along with the Warehouse Manager and implement procedures if necessary
* Ensure that system stock is accurate
* Create systems of task management
* Have a vigilant awareness of customer activities and report any unusual behaviour to the management
* Assist Warehouse Manager with team building and daily operations
* Work with Warehouse Manager to monitor operation of facility i.e. shutters
* Cover for Warehouse Manager when required i.e. holiday and sick
* Open and close warehouse and gate
* Responsible for the implementation of Health and Safety regulations for the business and to be vigilant in making sure the working environment is safe for customers and colleagues
* Undertake deliveries and collections in company vehicles, when required
* Carry out other duties which fall within reasonable expectations of the role
* To adhere to Health and Safety standards according to the company policy for both customers, colleagues and yourself
* Thorough knowledge of manual handling guidelines in day to day activities
* To attend work clean, smart and wearing the company uniform and relevant protective clothing for job requirement
* To work within other areas of the Lords Group of Companies from time to time when and if necessary
