The Company
Caval Recruitment's Commercial Building client based in the Milton Keynes area has a job opportunity for an experienced Site Manager largely encompassing Commercial, Industrial, Warehouse, Office, Residential, Motor Dealerships and Mixed Developments. The Role
Our team are currently recruiting for a Site Manager position for a Milton Keynes based Commercial, Industrial building client.
Reporting into a Contracts Manager, as a Site Manager you will be responsible for the operational delivery from out of the ground through to completion. You will be required to work to a strict build programme whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of health and safety and build quality. You will be responsible for the coordination and man management of various subcontractors and attend client progress meetings until handover.
The right candidate will essentially be fully qualified to manage Commercial / Industrial construction sites, potentially undertaking holiday cover for all live construction projects when required, as well as completing defect works on projects that are within the maintenance period, or latent defects that may become apparent. This candidate must have good people's skills as they will be customer facing whilst undertaking their duties.
Duties
Ensure that the works are undertaken in accordance with all HS&E legislation, HS&E Policies, procedures & Minimum Safety Standards, and the site Health Safety and Environmental plans
Manage subcontractors, service providers & operatives to construct the works safely
Review, produce & monitor Task Control Sheets & method statements for all works
Ensure site inductions are carried out
Puts safety first and instils this in subcontractors and suppliers
Ensure that works are coordinated to ensure suitable safe access and segregation is maintained.
Ensures that suitable welfare is in place and maintained.
Make efficient use of standard IT packages to efficiently manage own time.
Able to understand new and innovative technologies.
Records outcomes and advises others on potential improvements.
Seeks opportunities to improve on provided information for commercial or practical benefit.
Identifies and defines problems that require a solution.
Engages with designers / subcontractors to develop conceptual and detailed solutions to problems.
Actively promotes and contributes to our LEAN programme
