Job Role: Senior Design and Planning Manager

Location: Eastern Home Counties

Salary – £60-70k + £6,500 car allowance + Bonus + Flexible working

The Client

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design and Planning Manager to join a 5* house builder in the Northern Home Counties, at their Milton Keynes office. Reporting to the Associate Technical Director as the Senior Design and Planning Manager you will be responsible for managing a number of large-scale residential developments through the planning process to deliver high quality urban design and design solutions for the region.

In this role you will also be expected to work with the technical team and other departments to ensure pre-commencement conditions are minimised prior to decision notice and that the discharge of conditions is done in a timely manner before starting on site.

Key Responsibilities –

Organise and programme the design team, ensuring targets and deadlines are met for planning applications, clearance of conditions and technical information for pre-tenders.
Prepare design briefs, tender packages and commission design works being undertaken by external consultants.
Take the lead in discussions with all relevant bodies and Local Planning Authorities, in conjunction with civil engineers, and engage with the public through exhibitions.
Liaise and co-ordinate information with the Technical, Engineering and Commercial teams throughout the planning lifecycle.

Manage and review the design development process ensuring value engineering and build-a-bility are considered.
Regular site visits and reports to ensure construction is in accordance with planning approved specifications and details.
