Section Engineer – Long term Freelance – Milton Keynes

How would you like to work with a tier 1 civils contractor in their rail division? You will be joining a high profile rail framework, working on a strategic route linking Oxford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Bedford.

I'm looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join my client on a freelance basis for 6 months +. There is scope for a long term position and progression over time.

As a section engineer you will work on packages of work that include: Enabling works, , Bridges, Structures, Roads, Station build/fit out and Utilises.

This is a long term and ongoing contract paying £350-£400 LTD depending on experience.

Senior section engineer/ sub agents will be considered for this position too.

Roles and responsibilities:

You will report to the project manager and have a team of engineers and sub contractors who you will manage and will report to you
Liaising with clients, subcontractors and the design team
Preparing and writing method statements
Put together ITP's and risk assessments
Assess the temporary work and permanent works required on site
Planning and programming of the works
Attending weekly progress meetings
Work with senior engineers to manage the design process Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
A valid CSCS card, SSSTS/SMSTS is ideal
PTS is ideal however not essential.
TWC ticket or experience with TW is a bonus
Knowledge working on similar projects
