The Company
Caval Recruitment's Commercial Building client based in the Milton Keynes area has a job opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor largely encompassing Commercial, Industrial, Warehouse, Office, Residential, Motor Dealerships and Mixed Developments. Innovative and pioneering in approach, with an enviable reputation for quality the Company's aims and objectives are to work in conjunction with both Clients and Resource Providers to provide them with a quality service from conception, through construction and thereafter throughout the lifespan of the project.
The Role
As a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible in the delivery of multiple commercial and industrial contracts, with values ranging from £3m – £10m. You will use previous industry experience and work on your own initiative to ensure that all schemes are delivered on time and below budget.
Duties
Liaise with the Contracts Manager & Site Managers to oversee projects from tender to handover
Measure materials
Perform bulk orders
Take off and measuring as necessary
Order defect teams and complete works
Accountable for all aspects surrounding sub-contractor accounts
Adopt a cost-effective approach and target monthly C&V Reporting
Produce bills of quantities for the estimating team and issue tender documentation
Negotiate with the client to resolve any matters regarding agreements, valuations, documentation and variations
Provide assistance to the Contracts Manager in sub-contract management and any invoicing / client duty mattersDesirables
Sound knowledge with JCT Design and Build contracts
Previous expertise with industrial units comprising of steel frame, metal cladding, concrete internal & external slabs, drainage work and spec office areasThe successful candidate will receive competitive salary plus benefits package.
