Quantity Surveyor – Milton Keynes
An established and expanding design & build contractor in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team
Established since 1975, they are growing year on year, and have built up a reputation for excellence in the industrial and retail sectors
FLEXIBLE WORKING – You will be mainly home based, working from their office in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire for 1-2 days a week. They work nationally and you will be required to visit your projects every 2 weeks

The Role – Quantity Surveyor, Milton Keynes
You will be looking after a supermarket contract, on which current workload is largely Fire Cladding
Scope of Works
* Drafting and managing the company’s Quantity Surveying objectives and policies
* Review briefing information with other members of construction team
* Develop and Issue work packages for contracts
* Collate work costs
* Issue POs to subcontractors
* Review and compile site cost reports
* Evaluate and agree variation costs
* Prepare and agree valuations
* Agree interim payments to subcontractors
* Agree final accounts with subcontractors
* Agree final account with client
* Prepare final payments with subcontractors
* To attend client meetings with senior management where appropriate to resolve costing issues on projects
* Ensure records and documentation from works are completed in a timely fashion and filed correctly as per company filing structure
* Acts as the lynch pin with the day to day running of the project in terms of procurement and financial control
* Acts as the key coordinator with the professional team and Subcontractors in respect to the valuation process.
* To assist the management team in dealing with any non-conformances relating to quantity surveying works and determining the root cause, correction and corrective action where required.
* QS Personnel maybe requested by Senior Management to attend quality meetings or management reviews to assist in development or processes, procedures or controls relating to QS management within the business.
The right person
* You will have 5 years or more experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
You will ideally have some Fire Cladding experience
You will have some form of construction qualification
