Our client is currently looking for an Estimating Manager / Project QS to be responsible for supporting the company's expanding construction operations. You will join an established groundworks and civil engineering contractor company experiencing substantial period of business growth.

You will be working closely with, and reporting to, the company's Managing Director and will assist the senior management team in delivering construction activities, in the commercial and residential sectors, with the typical values of £50,000 to £1,000,000.

You will be provided with full guidance and assistance required to develop your sector-specific knowledge and skills in groundworks and civil engineering, including industry specific product training and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

1️ Manage the work tender process from start to finish

2️ Handle customer enquiries, carry out site surveys and collate information required for tendering/quoting

3️ Carry out regular site visits and maintain customer engagement to gather essential project information for correct pricing of works

4️ Assess tender requirements and provide information to commercial team

5️ Undertake take-off's and complete bills of quantities, formulate estimate sheets, priced SOW, quotations and qualifications

6️ Sourcing of costs for suppliers and sub-contractors cost management

7️ Work closely with our buying team to keep abreast of latest costs

8️ Complete tender adjudication with MD / Contracts Managers for selected tenders

9️ Facilitate smooth handover of secured projects to the construction management team

Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience

1️ Suitable applicants will have good client skills and have 2+ years' experience within a similar construction estimating role, having worked for a groundworks or civil engineering business.

2️ Degree or equivalent (e.g. HND) in a relevant construction / technical discipline.

3️ You should be able to read technical specifications and drawings in order to extract and interpret relevant information required for performance of construction tasks.

4️ You must be highly self-motivated person – the role will requires working with a high degree of autonomy. You should be an enthusiastic, energetic, self-disciplined and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

5️ You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator. You should be able to demonstrate excellent written, telephony and face to face communication skills.

6️ Good computer literacy skills are essential (CRM, MS Office and MS project management programs).

7️ Driving licence is a requirement of the role.

Salary
Basic £35,000 – £45,000 per annum + uncapped bonus
