Everything manufactured and produced serves a purpose. Some things we never see or even think about; in contrast, there’s other things that you see wherever you go that play an integral part of our everyday life.
This production site fits into the latter description.
What will you be doing?
Before we start, it’s important to make it clear that you value H&S as your number one priority.
So, in short, you’ll be managing the day-to-day production operations of a multimillion-pound site; from raw materials coming in and plant equipment processing, through to the finished product being distributed to the customer. You will have an experienced team of six to manage; everybody knows their role, but you know how to manage individually and collectively to get the best out of each person – whilst building a cohesive team ethos. If the ivory tower is your typical place to frequent, then you may as well stop reading here – you need to lead from the front and be part of the operation, not a mythical being that appears like an apparition from time to time. Spend for maintenance support of plant equipment is quite extensive, but you’re used to organising, planning, and managing budgets. We all love a good acronym so, QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) are, naturally, key measures you’re familiar with.
You’re background
You need to have experience of working on a production site, producing building products or something similar. Here’s a few examples; quarry or asphalt production, general building products, landfill or recycling plant or heavy industrial processing. You can demonstrate a successful track record of both developing teams and individuals. It may well be that you’re in an Assistant Plant Manager role currently and aren’t able to make the step up with the company you’re currently with – this business is open to giving you the opportunity to do exactly that. Part of your natural style is to remain calm under pressure and be comfortable making key decisions, even if sometimes it may not have been the right one, but you’ve got a decisive nature.
Why consider this organisation?
It is a well established, major player in the market; continually growing through strategic acquisition. If you have the hunger, ability to deliver a good set of results and a desire to progress your career, there will be opportunities for you to grow and develop across the business.
