Randstad are currently looking for a Plant Manager to work on Hs2 based in Milton Keynes
The following qualities/experience are essential:
Minimum of Managers & Professionals level CPCS Qualification
Clear focus on quality
Knowledge of geotechnical plant and equipment maintenance and servicing Knowledge of plant and equipment standards and regulations
Clear drive and ambition
Ability to effectively manage conflict and negotiation
Ability communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally
Ability to communicate and engage with site personnel and develop good working relationships
Ability to work with other managers within a management team
Ability to prioritise work and activities
Knowledge of Health and Safety Management
Experience in delivering best practices in plant and equipment safely
Ability to lead health and safety improvements regarding plant and equipment Experience in delivering major infrastructure projects
Knowledge of the Earthmoving industry
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
Strong computer skills – focused on Excel / Word / PowerPoint and ideally and ideally conversant
with other software, e.g. MS DIMENSIONS Financial: Maximise plant availability (up time) and control repair costs. Reduce damage/repair costs.
Organisational: Plant maintenance and service administrator, record undertaken maintenance and
servicing activities. Ensure all plant and equipment checks are carried and recorded.
INTERFACES Internal: Operational teams, Plant and Equipment Operators, Plant Hire Desk, Procurement Team,
Site Supervisors and Resources Team.
External: Team, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Regulatory Bodies.
ACCOUNTABILITIES Control all plant and equipment maintenance and servicing
Be the operational point of contact for all plant and equipment maintenance and servicing related issues
Work with the Plant Coordination Manager to provide expertise and knowledge for appropriate
plant selection
Work with the site teams to ensure that regularly plant and equipment checks are carried out and recorded.
Ensure compliance with all standards and regulations regarding plant and equipment Centralise all plant and equipment maintenance and servicing records Ensure health and safety standards regarding plant and equipment are met Explore all cost saving avenues in regard to plant maintenance and servicing Monitor plant and equipment operations and ensure all assets are being used correctly and in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
Ensure all maintenance and servicing operations are conducted in line with both JV partner's policies and procedures
Manage the coordination between the site teams and internal/external plant suppliers in regard
to plant and equipment maintenance and servicing
Work with the Chief Mechanic and Fitters to ensure all plant and equipment is maintained and
serviced correctly
Work with the Plant Coordination Manager to make plant and equipment available for maintenance and servicing.
Minimise the production impact of plant and equipment maintenance and servicing by working
with the site teams and Plant Coordination Manager to utilise planned downtime Receive and rectify on site complaints regarding plant & equipment maintenance and servicing.
Work with the Plant Coordination Manager to lead the modification and development of plant in accordance with Change Control Procedures
Explore avenues for operational improvements including reducing mobilisation durations by addressing common issues
Working with the Site Personnel Manager to facilitate machine operator familiarisation and training
Work within the Resources Team and assist with the management of all resources Assist with explaining business expectations, departmental goals, and progress Ensure excellent communication to the Resources Team Manager
Project.
Previous management experience in a similar Construction plant / Geotechnical environment Hands on experience (mechanical experience)
