About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
EKFB Are looking to recruit a Monitoring Engineer.
The EKFB monitoring team members will support the activities of the Instrumentation and Monitoring Coordinator by taking charge of a portion of the main works project, including both C2 and C3 sections, and ensuring that all the tasks and responsibilities expected to be carried out by the IMC are carried out for that specific area.
About The Candidate
Ensures the installation of the monitoring system is carried out as specified by the Designers and in accordance with the instrumentation and monitoring statement.
Assists the IMC with the production of the Contractor’s Monitoring Plans, required for construction of each asset.
Checks and makes sure that quality assurance processes for commissioning and testing are followed and that the relative monitoring-related documentation/records are produced to an acceptable standard.
Confirms that the monitoring subcontractor produces and updates a works programme that meets the expectations and requirements of the main works, taking care to avoid clashes and delays to it.
Provides adequate supervision and support of the instrument installation, maintenance and decommissioning operations.
Liaising with the relevant EKFB personnel to ensure any permits, licenses, materials and attendances are available when required by the monitoring subcontractor(s).
Makes sure the baseline monitoring is carried out for the required period before construction activities starts, in advance of constructions and as required by third parties.
Develops suitable programme and procedures for installation, protection, operation, maintenance and removal of equipment and instrumentation.
Ensures that monitoring is carried out at the frequency specified in the various monitoring plans.
Reviews and approves all the monitoring related submissions by the I&M subcontractor(s).
Carries out checks to verify that the information required for all monitoring review meetings is available, including statuses against the trigger levels stated in the monitoring plans.
Provides access and copies of the processed monitoring data as required by the Project Manager within the agreed period.
Attends monitoring data review meetings (SRGs) presenting the required information, with the assistance of the monitoring subcontractor(s).
Monitors the I&M systems and data to instigate any maintenance action, where required.
Generates and maintains an updated calibration register of all instruments and equipment used for monitoring purposes, where applicable and excluding plant and machinery.
Ensures all monitoring data is entered correctly in the databases, where required.
Performs checks to ensure the processing of data is correctly setup and converts the raw readings into the appropriate engineering unit specified in the monitoring plan.About The Company
