Our client a M&E Contractor, is seeking to employ a well-established Mechanical Project Manager to manage the mechanical installations of £13 Million M&E package. The project is a high profile, long term 8-year project in Milton Keynes. Our client is looking for an experience Mechanical Project Manager to join them on either a permanent or freelance contract.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-established specialist M&E Contractor, with a turnover of £30 Million and have a reputation for delivering high quality mechanical and electrical buildings services installations within the commercial and residential sectors. They are the key M&E contractor on a long-term high profile 8 year project, reporting directly to the developer.
This project will be an environmentally sustainable building designed around enhancing the health and wellbeing of occupants; Event space for colleague training as well as community events and classes; A range of health facilities including a fitness centre, cycle storage and rooftop walking and running track; and Flexible collaboration space that will be offered to local businesses and community organisations. £150m project in total.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the No.2 in charge. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering every aspect of the mechanical package including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure. Providing support to the Project Director, leading to the achievement of all the agreed project delivery targets within the set scope, time, quality, and budget standards.
The Mechanical Project Manager will be involved with:
* Be the central mechanical contact throughout project, promoting best practice and company policies at each stage
* Helping ensure that timeframe targets and budgets are met
* Contributing towards the design stage process, working with the Design Manager to develop and coordinate
* Working closely with the Developer and Project Director
* Work alongside the commercial team to negotiate contracts with external vendors and managing the process
* Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
* Determine resources requirements (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish
* Help plan all construction operations
* Ensure the highest H&S standards are maintained on site
* Ensure regulations and compliance are met
* Evaluate progress and assist in providing detailed reports
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
* Be HNC / HND, NVQ or City & Guilds qualified in Mechanical or Building Services
* Well established Mechanical Project Manager with solid track record
* Be comfortable travelling daily to Milton Keynes area
