Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

Location – South Bucks

Circa £40k (dept on experience) + Benefits

Our client is an established firm of Building Services Consulting Engineers covering a varied range of projects primarily in London, projects include high end commercial, sport and leisure, education, healthcare and science, and high rise residential.

They offer a broad range of Consultancy Services including but not limited to Surveys, Feasibility Studies, Report and Advisory Work, Design, Building Modelling and Thermal Simulation, Project Management, Energy Advice, BREEAM Assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

* Attend Client/Design Team briefings to establish project criteria.

* Carrying out the designs for a diverse range of building services incorporating sustainability and energy efficiency.

* To include design from concept to handover, including preparation of drawings, specifications and all relevant tender documentation.

* Producing drawings (Layouts, Schematics, & Sections)

* Attend Design Team and Site Meetings as sole representative, if appropriate.

* Undertake surveys of existing installations that establish condition and suitability for re-use.

* Undertake design calculations associated with HVAC systems (e.g. gains/losses, ‘U’ values, duct and pipe sizing, fan and pump sizing) using computer software packages.

* Attend site to undertake survey of existing installed services to establish location and content.

* Select standard terminal devices based upon calculated loads (e.g. radiators, grilles, fans, fan coil units).

* Liaise with Contractors to deal with site co-ordination queries.

* Undertake snagging of installed systems with respect to installation quality.

This role requires you to liaise with the CAD and admin departments to achieve deadlines but also to be responsible for your own workload and manage your own time effectively
