Fawkes & Reece are pleased to be partnered with a highly successful, industry leading house builder that are in search of an experienced Buyer to work within the procurement team in Milton Keynes.

This national developer has a strong reputation within the industry as a five star house builder, well known for delivering a variety of traditional build, timber frame and RC frame developments across the whole of the UK.

The company is seeking to appoint a Buyer who will be responsible for the following duties:

*You will be responsible for preparing the Materials Costs which includes;
*Providing/obtaining material schedules from working drawings
*Preparing the tender list for major materials
*Preparing all of the tender documentation and letters
*The analysis of quotations resulting from tender enquiries
*Inputting material schedules on to the appropriate computer systems
*Producing materials budgets for surveyors
*Working as part of the wider team, you will place material orders, including negotiating prices for materials and checking schedules against drawings and specifications
*Prepare all relevant documentation, procuring additional materials not covered by schedules and placing supplementary orders
*You will be involved with analysing variation orders and providing material costs to the
*Surveying team for variations and any extras, placing and amending orders in accordance with variations
*Placing orders for plant equipment as required by site, including negotiating prices by liaising with the Construction Director for the compound layout/site set-up
*Collate all costs resulting from materials, plant and variation orders placed, including monthly analysis of materials cost for completion and supplementary orders placed
*Check invoices against orders queried by the Accounts department and arrange for credits to be issued where necessary
*To be successful in this role I may have experience in these areas:
*You will have experience within the construction environment, with knowledge of timber frame being highly desirable and with an excellent knowledge of purchasing procedures
*A proficient use of Microsoft Excel
*It would be an advantage if I have these qualifications:
*To have or be working towards a professional procurement qualification e.g. CIPS
*A construction related qualification (ONC/HNC/Degree) would be highly desirable

The suitable candidate will have strong procurement experience, ideally within the residential sector. Experience of working with COINS is ESSENTIAL for this position.
