Are you interested in a career in Procurement, working for one of the largest civil engineering contractors in the UK? If so, we have a unique opportunity for someone to be part of Europe’s largest High Speed Rail Project, HS2.

Our client is delivering an 80km stretch of the project with works including bulk earthworks, structures and drainage packages. This will last for approximately 57 months with potential for further packages in the future affording the successful candidate longevity of service and the chance to progress their career on what is a marquee project.

Our client is interested in speaking to candidates of all backgrounds, they will consider graduates who are hungry and keen to learn, to candidates with experience working in civil engineering in administrative roles, to candidates already with experience working as a Materials Buyer for a contractor.

This position is site based and offers the mentorship and support of a Senior Buyer. Importantly our client wants enthusiastic, positive individuals with a strong work ethic who are looking to work in a busy office environment. The role will involve:
• Progressing requisitions and purchase orders
• Gathering quotes from suppliers
• Progressing orders and then tracking their status from delivery to site to invoicing
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Experience of using MS software packages and making external phone calls
