Our client is a multi-disciplined civil engineering company contractor who is working on the major High Speed 2 project.

They are looking to recruit a Land surveyor for a project based in the Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire area.

The successful candidate will be motivated with good communication and mathematical skills and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

The candidate will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and some site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities. The work will be a mix of field-based work as well as QA reporting and CAD drafting.

Main Duties:

undertaking land/topographic Surveys

Analyzing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD civil 3d and GIS (geographic information systems) programs

calculating Earthwork volumes for Weekly & Monthly progress & for monthly valuations

Set out, level and survey operational sites

Compile quality control records

Record and monitor site plant and personnel

Production of as-built drawings and information

Skills:

GPS experience is essential

Experience with GPS operated machinery 

Experience with Earthwork & drainage

Ability to read engineering drawings

Experience in civil 3D cad would be advantageous

Strong work ethic and desire to progress

Essential Qualifications:

Degree in Land Surveying/Geomatics or related discipline
