An excellent opportunity for an experienced Joinery Contracts Manager/ ‘Project Manager’ to join our team.
We are a bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturer, successful at delivering bespoke joinery packages to the commercial client, taking pride in corporate office fit-out sector, with scope to reach out to high end hospitality market. We provide Bespoke Joinery solutions, creating functional environments to encourage a productive workspace. From office to site, we apply the same professional practices, whether the project is small store furniture fit-out or a complete ‘CAT B’ joinery fit-out.
The Successful Candidate:
We require a robust, yet diplomatic individual, with great commercial awareness. Has the ability to manage multiple Joinery projects, ranging in value from £10k to £300k; taking control of all aspects, from planning and coordination, through to production and delivery, whilst assisting the Sales Director ‘the business’ to win other Tenders. You will work closely with the Estimator to establish client requirements and provide budget costs to achieve specification. From receipt of PO, you take the lead in ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget and meets client specification. You are proactive and thrive from achievement, take pride in your work and are committed to deliver our product.
*Local person preferred (not essential) due to travel requirements to site locations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Understand complex installation processes, the needs of the client and organise detailed schedules of works accordingly.
* Deliver projects to pre-determined time targets on the Contract Programme, to the agreed quality standard and budget.
* Oversee the production on site, via Site Managers, Installations Manager and site fitters; to give direction, accurately report current position on programmes and deliver projects on time.
* Promote health, safety and environmental good practices on all sites to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
* Engage with Technical Team to ensure build ability and efficiencies are developed within the design and that programme is maintained.
* Liaise internally, with Project Planner, Purchasing, and Accounts, throughout the manufacturing stage of every project; to check progress, update, keep track and coordinate wherever relevant, and ensure they’re positive contribution to the project.
* Arrange/attend pre and post tender meetings with clients; being external Directors, PMs and Designers to ensure transparency throughout the project and that we are subsequently on track to a satisfied end client.
* Sourcing of materials, negotiation and strategic selection of goods.
* Ensure issues, including snagging works are rectified within reasonable time.
* Present a professional face for the business.
* Interrogation of bills of quantities, Schedules, Specifications and Architects drawings.
* Identify labour, material, and time requirements by assessing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents alike.
* Analyse quotes to maximise the company’s ability to be competitively priced, securing profit for future work.
* Follow up enquiries; negotiate costings and budgets across clients, subcontractors and external consultants.

Field experience – Has tangible understanding of joinery and how a project is formed, with ability to provide insight into areas where projects have hidden profit.
Blue Print Reading – Knows how to read construction programmes, specifications and interpret drawings.
Holistic – Has the means to think ahead to see the completed structure and how it’s assembled to leverage understanding of the project and make adjustments for winning the bid.
Analytical Thinker- Keen negotiator who is quick with numbers, good with math and understands the sequence of a project.
Multitasker – Prioritises workload to balance several tasks whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy on the information pertinent to the conversation or project in hand.
MS Packages- Knowledge of PowerPoint with the ability to professionally deliver presentations is desirable.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years Joinery Contracts/ Project Management experience
* Strong Joinery/ Cabinet making background
* Excellent communication skills
* Previous construction site experience
* Holds a full Clean UK Driving License
* CSCS Card/ SMSTS is desirable
