About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
EKFB Are looking for a successful candidate to:
Be responsible for assisting the Environmental Consents Design Lead in ensuring consents are delivered on time and in collaboration with the wider consenting and environment team, including engineering disciplines.
Assess effects of the design in terms of cultural heritage and archaeological risks and mitigation proposals present in designs to avoid or reduce negative impact on cultural heritage assets.
Assist the Consents Manager in identifying, developing and managing heritage consents and the maintaining the consents register & portal.
Work with Planners and the Engineering team to ensure that the programme is effectively communicated and collaboratively work to ensure that environmental timescales are built into the programme and risk is understood.
Establish and maintain a programme for reporting and demonstrating compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice.
Assist with the implementation of BS EN ISO14001 certification and audit against the standard and internal procedures.
Support supply chain activities to raise environmental and sustainability standards.
Work in collaboration with the wider Environmental Team, client, designers, community, stakeholder and public relations managers to ensure the programme is achieved.
Lead by example and promote good practice relating to environmental management & sustainability, sharing best practice and learning.
About The Candidate
BA/BSc Degree in Archaeology or relevant subject.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Built heritage fieldwork experience
Membership of an appropriate professional body working towards chartered status.
Willing to assist with the management of other environmental disciplines.
Robust knowledge of UK archaeology and history and also full knowledge of the planning process and relevant environmental / heritage legislation and guidance in England.
Experience of driving improvements to systems and processes.
Good inter-personal skills and be able to develop and maintain good relationships and networks.
