Health and Safety Advisor – required to join a leading international construction and engineering organisation based in Milton Keynes. This can be a full time or part time, permanent position, for an experienced Health and Safety professional to facilitate the delivery of specialist Geotechnical services to clients nationwide. The Health and Safety professional will be liaising with the group's international offices so flexibility with occasionally working later or early to accommodate time zones will be required.
This is a new position within the company as they currently outsource their Health and Safety so will give the most successful candidate the opportunity to progress their career and make a difference in this rapidly expanding international company. The Health and Safety Auditor will be completing Site Audits and will be involved in setting up the framework for the whole group.
Health and Safety Advisor Position Overview
Compile the compilation of Construction Phase Plans, Pre-Construction Information, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Advising on changes to working practices to ensure they are safe and comply with legislation
Developing and recommending safety improvement initiatives
Creation of a framework for the group
Management of investigation into incidents / accidents and maintenance of appropriate records as and when required
Maintaining knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive legislation and any developments that affect the industry
Carry out planned and ad-hoc site inspections and Audits
Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
Staff training in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work,
Complete new starter inductions within two weeks of new personnel joining the business/site, to ensure all safety procedures are briefed out
Health and Safety Advisor Position Requirements
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree level qualification (Advantageous)
TechIOSH or GradIOSH Membership
Working towards Chartered Membership
2 years 'Safety Professional' experience
2 Years Construction Experience, including site visits
Ability to work under pressure with good time Management skills
Good Communication skills will be communicating with offices World wide
Frame Work Experience
Ability to work as part of a team and also to work as an individual
Health and Safety Advisor Position Remuneration
Job Types: Permanent Full-time or Part time
Salary: £30K -£40K per year
20 days Holiday + 8 BH
