About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
The successful candidate will:
Report to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for undertaking GIS data preparation, data management, mapping, BIM data conversions, analysis, and visualisation to support our internal team, supply chain and client. This is an exciting role in an innovative team, working on the largest infrastructure project in Europe.
Key components of the role include:
• Data management and co-ordination
• Provide technical expertise to digitalisation projects
• Preparation of high-quality cartographic deliverables
• Support and training of office and field-based staff for web and mobile applications
• Manipulation, analysis and presentation of geographical information
Ideally, you will have experience of working within a similar environment and be able to respond to
various requirements for geospatial products and services. Your work will form part of the
organisations digital strategy and will be contributing directly to the successful delivery of the project.
Principal Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• Analysing spatial data using mapping software and geoprocessing tools
• Creating spatial data for use in business processes and applications
• Provide data management support and data development as required
• Creation of high-quality cartographic map outputs – sometimes from physical maps
• Provide GIS support and training to the Construction team and supply chain as required
• Assist in the development and integration of data sets and web services
• Advise on GIS-related issues to the core GIS team
• Authoring of GIS contractual requirements to the client to a high standard and on time
• Perform quality control checks of incoming data from the supply chain
• Undertake own continuous professional development.
About The Candidate
Essential Experience:
• Demonstrable experience in a similar position and/or a Master’s degree in a relevant
discipline
• Proven knowledge in ESRI ArcGIS Pro
• ESRI ArcGIS Online / Portal for ArcGIS
• ESRI Mobile application deployment and support
• Microsoft Access and Excel
• Knowledge and experience in successful data management
• Working knowledge of UK GIS datasets
• Excellent presentation and communication skills in written and spoken English
• Knowledge of Metadata standards and their application
• Microsoft Office 365
Desirable Experience:
• Experience of working within infrastructure or environment disciplines
• Experience of programming in either Python, SQL, or VBA
• Exposure to ESRI Model Builder or FME
• ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE
• Use of Projectwise, BIMXtra or other common data environment use
• High Speed Two (HS2) project experience
• Experience of working with large datasets i.e LiDAR, OS Mastermap
