I am looking for a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor, or a Surveyor who considers themselves ready for a step up. With real Career progression and a supportive environment in abundance this mainstream housebuilder is looking to bulk its commercial team due to ongoing expansion.

My client works as a leading housebuilder with an enviable reputation for quality developments.

Your role will be to take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the designated project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Control expenditure
•Reconcile cost/value reports
•To assist the Operations Manager with pre-start planning and programming
•Selection of Sub-contractors for works in accordance with company Sub-contract procurement requirements.
•Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
•To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
•Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
•Assist the Operations Manager with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works. Place the appropriate order and all required information to carry out their work
•Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts •Process subcontractor requests for payment
