A well-established Fire Protection business is currently looking for an Estimator/Surveyor to join their rapidly expanding team in Milton Keynes, taking responsibility for supporting the expanding fire protection operations. Along with a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, you will also receive an uncapped bonus, pension scheme and a non-contributory private medical scheme. 

You will be working closely with, and reporting to, the company’s Managing Director and will assist the senior management team in delivering passive fire protection services, in the commercial and residential sectors, with typical project values of up to £50,000 – £200,000. 

As an Estimator/Surveyor, your responsibilities will include: 

Handling customer enquiries, arrange/carry out site surveys and collate information required for tendering/quoting. 
Carrying out site visits and maintain customer engagement to gather essential project information for correct pricing of works. 
Assessing tender requirements and provide information to commercial team.  
Undertaking take-offs and complete bills of quantities, formulate estimate sheets, priced SOW, quotations, and qualifications.  
Sourcing of costs for suppliers and sub-contractors cost management. 
Providing clear and concise quotation to clients within the agreed timescales. 
Carrying out background research with product suppliers to ensure the most cost effective, compliant, and appropriate products solutions are provided to clients.  
Following up on quotations with clients to clarify queries/questions.  
Facilitating smooth handover of secured projects to the operational management team.  
Where required, producing schedules of work for projects, and supporting the operational teams to ensure correct resources are allocated to each. 
Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and implement accordingly. 
Ensuring record keeping systems are maintained in line with expected company and 3rd party accreditation practices and standards. 
Attending corporate events on behalf of the company. 
We are looking for an Estimator/Surveyor who has the following skills and experiences: 

Previous experience in Passive Fire Protection (preferably) or construction related disciplines. 
Proven track record of managing a few projects simultaneously and working within tight timescales to deliver successful outcomes and high customer satisfaction on projects.
A degree in a technical discipline is seen as an advantage for this role. 
A working knowledge of BORIS (or equivalent systems) would be beneficial. 
You should be able to read technical specifications and drawings in order to extract and interpret relevant information required for preparation of cost effective and compliant tenders/quotations. 
You must be highly self-motivated person – the role will requires working with a high degree of autonomy. 
You should be an enthusiastic, energetic, self-disciplined, and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. 
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator. You should be able to demonstrate excellent written, telephony and face to face communication skills. 
Excellent computer literacy skills are essential (email, MS Office, and MS project management programs). 
Driving licence is a requirement of the role.
