Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our client, due to continued success in winning new business, the company is looking to support this increased activity with the recruitment of an experienced Estimator.

Our client

Our client is a leading high-end contractor, with an extensive portfolio covering London’s most diverse exclusive residential and retail commercial fit-out projects. Quality and a customer care ethos runs through all the company’s activities and their contract and project management team.

Technical Duties

* Work with the Operations Manager to ensure consistency and best practice of working across the business.

* JCT Contract responsibility and review.

* Preparing and collating BOQ and pricing schedules.

* Researching and sourcing materials, equipment and labour costs.

* Collating sub-contractor packages to distribute for quotations.

* Gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.

* Reviewing and evaluating quotations submitted by sub-contractors.

* Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.

* Assessing the levels of risk on a project.

* Reading construction and architectural drawings and taking measurements and calculations.

* Preparing and submitting quotations for tenders.

* Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities.

* Monitoring the phases of project to make sure costs are kept in line with forecasts.

* Valuation analysis.

Job Requirements

Minimum required Professional Experience

* A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a related field

Skills and Abilities

* Attention to detail

* A good level of IT knowledge including Microsoft applications

* Building/quantity surveying experience

* An understanding of architectural plans and specifications

* Strong communication skills

Benefits of working with our client

* Competitive salary (£35,000 – £55,000pa) + package (dependant on experience)

* Working hours are 8.30am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday
