Engineering Manager (CRE)– Milton Keynes

CCO Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading Multi-Disciplined Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Group operating across the UK. Our client has an opening for an experienced Engineering Manager for a major Rail framework with varied works including Rail, Earthworks and Drainage packages.

As a the Engineering Manager you will play a pivotal role in the successful development and implementation of rail projects. During the development stage your particular focus will be on influencing design organisations to develop designs that can be built efficiently and safely. During the implementation phases you will oversee the engineering and construction teams, ensuring the works are built right first time.

The Role:

* Regular liaison with designer’s to ensure design are efficient and safe to build

* Input into the ‘development plan’ to document the planned construction methodologies

* Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams e.g. WPP / TBS / RA’s

* Approval of inspection and test plans produced by the project teams

* Review submissions for quality and sufficiency

* Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input

* Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers and Engineers

* Excellent interpersonal skills and assertive when required to ensure timeous delivery

* Detailed knowledge of BS5975:2019 code of practice for temporary works

* Produce design briefs for temporary works

* Carry out temporary works audits across the project

* Review and appoint Temporary Works Supervisors

* Maintain the temporary works registers

Your Profile:

* 5 years' experience

* Sound geotechnical knowledge, particularly in with the practicalities of construction methods

* Temporary Works Coordinator qualification & experience

* Previous CRE Construction approved

* Experience managing design development

* Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other design based software such as AutoCad

* Civil Engineer with Membership of Professional Institute (ICE/IStructE)

Salary + Package:

* Salary £60,000+

* Car or car allowance

* 27 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays with a buy and sell option

* Discretionary bonus of up to 10% of annual salary

* Pension – 5% employee contribution. 7% employer
