About The Role
The role will assist in the development and delivery of the stakeholder and interface engagement strategy, with direct accountability for managing community relations for a geographical section of the route, and will be the main point of contact for local community groups on behalf of the Integrated Project Team. The role may also act as main point of contact for other stakeholders as appropriate, across a wider footprint
Develop and maintain the Community Liaison Plans for each project area (2 or 3 of 5 no. project areas) including contribution to HS2 Local Area Engagement Plans
Plan, develop and deliver engagement activities along the route which comply with HS2 Community Engagement Framework
Manage appropriate Undertakings and Assurances related to engagement, including provision of evidence
Working with project delivery teams, have an up to date knowledge of our design, scope of works and construction methodology for each area.
Have wider knowledge of all HS2 associated works such as EWC and utility works
Be conversant with local issues and ensure wider team are briefed on any issue of note
Work closely with Community Champion on each site to ensure that the whole workforce (including subcontractors) appreciate and understand local sensitivities and we comply with our obligations for delivering Advance Work Notices
Working with Community Champion and Communications team to create relevant news bulletins and public facing information.
Working with HS2 Ltd and the Complaints team to manage the enquiries and complaints process
Support Schedule 17 Planning Applications by summarising engagement activities within each application area
About The Candidate
Excellent people and communication skills
Ability to impact and influence stakeholders
Ability to build strong relations internally and externally
Can work independently and is proactive
Flexible to travel and work from different locations
Knowledge of the rail/infrastructure/construction industry, and familiar with local matters
Experience working with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure and to be able to deal with conflict
A Level or equivalent qualification
