About the role:
They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Surveyor to join their team. The focus of this role will be to oversee the delivery of the planned maintenance
programmes, and to provide professional procurement and contractual advice to
colleagues across the business.
Your day to day duties will include:

Assisting in specifying and preparing major repairs and improvement programmes.
*
Preparing and / or approving specifications, schedules of works and allowing contract documentation to be put in place
*
Acting as Contract Administrator, implementing formal contract management and procurement procedures
*
Preparation of contract documents and contractor selection process
*
Liaising with site-based colleagues to deliver works
*
Arranging and attending monthly contract meetings
*
Agreeing, in consultation with the Contracts Manager, any variations to the contract with the contractor, ensuring that it is confirmed in writing
What they’re looking for:
*
Studying for professional qualification in surveying/building discipline or professionally qualified to HNC level minimum or equivalent or qualified by experience.
*
Demonstrable practical experience of the maintenance of a large amount of housing stock and of capital works to the same
*
Experience of preparing reports and monitoring programmes and budgets
*
Proven success in contract management
*
Good practical knowledge of building regulations, codes of practice, British standards etc
*
Ability to liaise effectively with staff, tenants and external contact, e.g. consultants and contractors
