About The Role
We’re looking for a CAD Technician to support the BIM Manager in managing data (graphical and non-graphical). Data import and export from the PIM (Project information model) specialised in CAD.
We will require you to produce schedules and prepare drawings from Engineer sketches using CAD software. We’ll also need you to support model graphics and date in and out of BIMXtra as well as supporting the administration of the project MIDP and MPDT.
Ensuring employers information requirements and asset information requirements are responded to and delivered is an essential part of this role. You’ll also need to ensure the use of the common data environment to manage and exchanging information, adhering to the methodology of BS 1192:2007+A2:2016 across project(s).
Supporting the project team(s) with fulfilling standards, methods and procedures using specified software and workflows is essential and you must be able to contribute content towards the production of monthly reports to identify and measure BIM implementation within the business unit and across projects. Following the defined processes, documentation and methodology for delivering BIM in line with company certification and feedback recommendations for improvements.
A key part of this role is supporting cultural change within the business unit/project to embrace new technologies and processes. Also supporting the business unit/project BIM/digital champions with implementation, sharing best practice and in workshop sessions.
About The Candidate
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of BIM and CAD and national standards
Good Excel skills
Experience in Database administration and use
Good communication skills
Sound understanding of the BS & PAS 1192 suite of standards and related ISOs
Ability to coordinate and manage own workload
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Numerate or Engineering)
Working knowledge of CAD and BIM
Experience in CAD 3D modelling and CAD systems
Use of DMS (BIMXtra), API technology, SQL, GIS and eB
