Our client specialise in general building contracts ranging from renovations, refurbishments, remodeling, to bespoke new build houses.
About your new role:
Due to continued growth this progressive building contractor is now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their expanding team.
As an experienced Project Manager you will support the Site Manager and Director in the delivery smaller refurbishments / renovations through to bespoke new build houses as well as new enquiries.
Duties for the Project Manager:
Working with the client from the start of each project to ensure an understanding of the project scope and vision
Oversee the beginning of each turn-key project, including details such as planning permissions, designs and building control requirements
Organise and submit project estimates to clients
Work closely with the Managing Director and Construction team to ensure efficient project delivery.
Coordinate and run the project schedule and scope of works for each project
Manage subcontractors
Always anticipate the next steps, answering questions before the client inquires, using skills to keep all team members updated.
Lead and motivate the construction team during all aspects of the build
Quality and budget control
Process change orders
Conduct meetings on site with clients, the construction team and subcontractors
Purchasing and negotiation with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
Manage Health and Safety requirements
Acting as a contact point for escalations and issues, through to resolution What you need to succeed:
A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Project Manager with a building contractor.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Highly organised and excellent attention to detail.
Solid leadership skills
Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
Previous experience working with suppliers & subcontractors.
Capable of thinking on your feet and solving issues that arise in a timely manner
Competent in reading structural drawings and plan sets
Able to build a rapport with clients to ensure long-term working relationships
Full understanding of CDM regulations
Involvement in administering contracts
Advantageous: RICS accredited degree or similar
Advantageous: Knowledge of project management tool Builder trend Salary / Package for the Project Manager:
Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)
