A Building Control Inspector is sought by a national Approved Inspector in the vicinity of Stevenage to expand their Building Control offering within an established structural warranty network, undertaking building control, warranty inspections, and plan checking of residential and mixed-use builds. Salary up to £50,000, company vehicle, fuel card.

Building Control Inspector project management of mixed-use builds up to 11m and residential builds up to 18m. Plan checking to be performed on a working from home basis.

Building Control Inspector responsibilities:

Check plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation
Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
Undertake inspection of works and produce reports
At completion of works ensure all relevant inspections have been performed with appropriate certification submitted, and defects/non-conformities addressed before final certification has been issued
Support the training and development of assistant surveyors
Contribute to external client meetings
Undertake peer review audits on an ad-hoc basis Experience required:

Associate / Chartered membership; RICS, CABE, CIOB or relevant experience
Prior Building Control Inspector experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Self-sufficient management of varied workload
Up-to-date knowledge of Building Regulations standards, applicable legislation and environmental issues Overview:

37.5 hrs per week, Monday – Friday
