About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
EKFB Are looking to recruit a BIM Engineer to support the BIM Manager in managing data (graphical and non-graphical). Data import and export from the PIM (project information model).
Supporting Model graphics and data in and out of BIMXtra (the project CDE)
Supporting the administration of the project MIDP (deliverable register)
Supporting the administration of the project MPDT (asset register)
To ensure the distribution and collation of external supply chain capabilities assessments for relevant project(s).
Ensure Employers Information Requirements and Asset Information Requirements are responded to and delivered.
Ensure that the BIM Execution Plan is being observed by Designer, supply chain and EKBF, providing training as required.
Ensure the use of the common data environment to manage and exchanging information, adhering to the methodology of BS 1192:2007+A2:2016 across project(s).
Supporting the project team(s) with fulfilling standards, methods and procedures using specified software and workflows.
Contribute content towards the production of monthly reports to identify and measure BIM implementation within the business unit and across projects.
Contribute to the production and interpretation of any relevant data contained within the Designer’s models for design, procurement, construction, as maintenance purposes.
Observe the digital information plan/strategies that are being implemented for business unit/project and provide feedback to BIM Manager to ensure progress is being made.
Raise awareness and inform others of BIM within business unit/project functional departments including Business Development, Work Winning, Estimating, Design Management, Building Services, Commercial, Planning, Operational and SHEA.
Follow the defined processes, documentation and methodology for delivering BIM in line with company certification and feedback recommendations for improvements.
Create case studies for the business unit/project
Supporting cultural change within the business unit/project to embrace new technologies and processes.
Support the business unit/project BIM/digital champions with implementation, sharing best practice and in workshop sessions
Assisting with the alignment, assurance, training initiatives, marketing and internal/external communications relating to BIM for the business unit/project.
Provide feedback to business unit/project BIM Manager
Promoting EKBF’s capabilities throughout the supply chain.
Attend industry groups/events and Client meetings as required.
To ensure projects are supported adequately with respect to hardware/software deployment
About The Candidate
Skills / Knowledge:
• Knowledge of BIM and national standards
• Good Excel skills
• Experience in database administration/use
• A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain.
• Sound understanding of the BS & PAS 1192 suite of standards and related ISOs.
• Ability to coordinate and manage own workload supporting project delivery.
• Resilient, positive & confident character
Experience/Qualifications/Training (if any):
• Be educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically an Engineering discipline
• In-depth working knowledge BIM
• Computer skills – well developed IT skills including Office suit.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM.
• Experience in CAD 3D modelling and CAD systems.
• Experience in CAD/BIM coordination in previous projects.
• Demonstrate significant experience of complex station/transport interchange infrastructure build and employment in management roles on projects of similar scope and scale, within the construction industry.
• Previous experience of working for major infrastructure clients typically, TfL and other UK or International organisations.
• Use of DMS – preferably BIMXtra
