ASSISTANT PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER –
We are recruiting for a commercially astute Assistant Planning & Development Manager to support our business’ growth, to be based in our office in Beaconsfield.
You will work on a day-to-day basis alongside the Land Director and the rest of the Management Team, to prepare and submit planning applications in London and the South East and deliver planning consents to agreed timescales to enable the business to succeed. You will also investigate and appraise other aspects of suitable sites in the operational area.
The role is fast moving and sociable, with you liaising with local planning authorities, estate agents, solicitors and land owners, to drive through the purchase of sites and the obtaining of detailed planning consents and therefore enable to business to have sufficient sites to operate and grow. You will make recommendations in terms of planning applications, design and valuation to enable this to happen.
The projects that you will be working on will vary extensively from sites of three houses to schemes of 50 or more units. We also develop schemes to convert offices into apartments. Different types of contract are considered, both unconditional or subject to planning consent, and you will need to look at how sites can be improved to maximise the planning potential of the site and its profitability to the Company.
About you
You will have previous experience of submitting planning applications within the new build housing sector, as well as experience in the negotiation of section 106 agreements with local planning authorities and also development agreements with registered providers for affordable housing. Experience of buying and the appraisal of residential land would also be an advantage.
You will be an independent worker with a drive for success, overcoming challenges and supporting the team. You will have the ability to influence decisions using appropriate methods and facts, with proven negotiation, communication, and organisational skills and be able to present planning strategies to the Board.
A full driving licence is an essential component of the job.
