The Position

The role will require a Quantity Surveying background in the Construction Industry along with good IT and communication skills who is highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.

An excellent practical knowledge of quantity surveying procedures throughout pre and post construction phases is essential.

Current study towards or possession of a suitable qualification.

Ideally have worked on residential projects from groundworks to final completion with good understanding of section 278/104 contractual arrangements.

Duties/Responsibilities

To fulfil all apprenticeship obligations. Attendance at college on day release as agreed with the company.

To work closely with surveying and operational team effectively reporting on financial progress captured in real time.

Provision of administrative support to the Build QS and Operational team in the execution of their duties with the ability to communicate with department colleagues proactively

Assist in the procurement of Sub- Contractors/ Professional consultants and In-House labour to carry out specified works within prescribed commercial and time constraints

Ensure reporting systems are maintained at all times with subcontractors paid on time in accordance with Construction Act.

Assist in the monitoring, management and control of the works issued to Contractors, consultants and direct labour.

Inspect and value ongoing and completed works and submit findings to the Build QS.

Strong commercial skills, maximising value recovery, cots control and cash management.

Ability to form and develop relationships with PQS, design team and supply chain.

Able to work on own initiative.

Monitor personal workload to ensure that individual schemes and projects are progressing on target and to budget.

Attend all team meetings as required.

Promote and act in accordance with company values, systems, policies and procedures.

Understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations and other applicable legislation.

Maintain relevant filing systems and databases.
