A client of mine is looking to recruit an Assistant QHSSE Manager on a one-year fixed term contract. They are looking for someone with experience in Major Civils Projects, with a very strong Health & Safety Background with Audit, Assurance and Quality in addition. Your role will be to ensure that partnering contractors and being fully compliant and maintaining the highest standard of QHSSE throughout the project. Experience using 18001 and 45001 would therefore be advantageous due to the nature of the position.
To have experience working for a Major Contractor would be desirable and to understand the standards and demands subcontractors need to comply with, as well as the volume of varying different contractors all working simultaneously. The selected candidate will also be required to travel and supply their own form of transport (expenses paid).
Key Functions
* To set the strategic direction, policy and systems in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental Management, Security, Quality and Assurance.
* To provide assurance to the Executive and Board, lead major strategic projects and offer expert advice to the business.
* To develop a 'Safe at heart' culture throughout the supply chain, driving H&S performance beyond current industry best practice.
The directorate is organised around six functional areas:
* Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Systems and Controls
* Safety Culture Development and Communications
* HSE Operations
* Security and Resilience
* Programme and Corporate Assurance
* Directorate Business Management
Skills, Qualifications, and Knowledge
NEBOSH Diploma (Or equivalent) (Desirable)
NEBOSH Construction (Minimum)
ISO 45001 and 18001 experience
Strong background in Assurance and Audit
Minimum of 3 years' experience within a Health & Safety position
