Our client is a chartered building practice that offer a full range of building consultancy and project management services throughout the UK. They are currently working with a number of clients in the local authority, healthcare, commercial and social housing sectors across a range of building projects, but especially so in the extremely busy passive fire market.
The passive fire market covers Fire risk assessments and follow up of FRA works to bring the building up to the latest regulations and compliance. The works mainly entail the maintenance, upgrading and replacements of fire doors as well as fire stopping and other types of passive fire protection like fire boards/ fire curtains etc. The projects will also occasionally cover other small works like upgrades to kitchens and bathrooms etc.
The company are now looking for an area site supervisor to manage a number of projects in mainly the Milton Keynes area although there will be other projects in the east midlands and beyond form time to time. They want the new Area Site Supervisor to be the ‘go to’ problem solver and new projects mobiliser as part of their project team. You will be instrumental in keeping projects on course and ensuring clients and employees are fully engaged throughout. You will also be involved with performing hands on works tasks where required in an emergency or staff shortages due to sickness etc.
For this role you will need to have ideally come from previously a hands on position, moving on to a supervisor or managerial role. You will need to have some experience in passive fire projects covering fire door installation and fire stopping. Experience of managing other types of projects and personnel would be advantageous. Any qualifications in passive fire such as FDIS , FIRAS , BMTRADA , IFE or NVQ’s in passive fire would be highly desirable
Additional training will be available to the right candidate and a pathway set for a full management position within the company if ongoing competency and performance allows.
Responsibilities:
Be the problem solver for all clients in your area
Ensuring all projects have the relevant skills in place
Liaising between client and head office to cover additional requirements and quote requests
Communicate to all levels the project goals and ensure teams work to completion
Provide support and technical advice to staff
Completion of tasks to the highest possible standard
Responsible for the adherence to Health & Safety on site for operatives under our control
Qualification/ Experience:
SSSTS
SMSTS – Preferred
CSCS Card
First Aid
Health and Safety Awareness
Full UK driving license
Additional preferred qualifications

Strong Communication skills

Strong IT skills
Salary:
£45,000 – £55,000
