Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Supporter Relationship Manager to join them based in High Wycombe. You will join us on a permanent, full time basis working 35hrs per week (hours to be agreed with your line manager). In return you will receive a competitive salary of Specialist (SP4), circa £28.5k depending on experience plus 36 days holiday a year including bank holidays.
The Supporter Relationship Manager role:
Coeliac UK is committed to increasing food safety for the benefit of people who are reliant on gluten free food for health reasons. Commercial Services supports this commitment through working with food sector businesses to raise awareness of the need for gluten free foods in which consumers can be confident, providing independent certification of gluten free products, accrediting catering functions and training.
This role focuses on developing, coordinating, and managing major donor relationships, including gifts in Wills, applications to charitable trusts/grant makers, and working with HNW individual supporters to donate at significant levels. This position will work with the Director of Fundraising to deliver the targets for these areas, working collaboratively with colleagues across the charity.
Key responsibilities of the Supporter Relationship Manager:
– Identify and build relationships with current, past and potential major donors, charitable trusts and legacy pledgers in order to grow income
– Working closely with the Director of Fundraising, to build potential projects or areas of work to present to these supporters
– Use multiple research methods to build a prospective donor pipeline and manage this effectively to ensure each supporter receives appropriate cultivation and stewardship
– Provide administrative support for donations from all major gifts including data entry, thanking and delivering a stewardship plan for each major giver
– Under the guidance of senior managers, send applications for priority projects to researched charitable trusts, grant givers or others as identified
– Develop and deliver the legacy marketing strategy to maximise the recruitment and retention of legacy supporters
– Together with the wider Fundraising team, provide a high standard of customer service to supporters, staff and members of the public who contact the charity about donating, particularly larger gifts including legacies
– Develop and maintain a clear supporter stewardship plan, including individually tailored engagement plans for
– Maintain accurate and timely database records and deliver reports as needed to identify relevant activity
– Ad-hoc projects to assist the fundraising team generate sources of income, including attendance at fundraising events
– Assist in customer service roles when the organisation requires
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the Supporter Relationship Manager:
– At least three years’ experience in Fundraising in the charity sector (specifically major donor, trust fundraising and/or legacy marketing)
– Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
– Demonstrable experience of effective communication, relationship management and reporting
– Highly accurate and excellent attention to detail
– Exceptional organisational skills with experience of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively
– Results-driven and self-motivated to achieve best possible outcomes through best practice and continuous development
– Evidence of being proactive, self-motivated and organised working, in both autonomous and collaborative working environments
– Knowledge and experience of working with a CRM database
– Proven understanding of fundraising practices
– Numerate with an good understanding of budgets and financial accounts
– Experience of arranging special events would be highly desirable
