We’re looking for a Maintenance Worker to join us at our Blackberry Farm Animal Centre on a part time basis to oversee maintenance of buildings, plant, fixtures and fittings, equipment and grounds.
At Blackberry Farm most of our animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. We look after dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, farm animals and many other types of small domestic animals – at any one time we could be caring for over 200 animals. Our centre occupies a 10 acre site overlooking the rural villages of Waddesdon and Quainton in Buckinghamshire.
As a Maintenance worker your role is fundamental to the health and safety of staff, visitors and animals in our care. You’ll be ensuring buildings and animal accommodation are compliant with licensing and legal requirements and the maintenance of grounds are in order for the site to be both safe and operational for staff, visitors and animals.
We are looking for a proactive person who is able to effectively plan their daily workload and good verbal and written communication skills. You’ll be joining our dedicated team on a part time basis. Team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.
You’ll be working 8.30am to 4.30pm (with an hour unpaid lunch) Monday, Thursday and Friday each week.
What you’ll be doing as an RSPCA Maintenance Worker:

Communicating with internal and external contractors and colleagues
*
Routine maintenance and repairs to buildings and animal accommodation
*
Troubleshooting of machinery/equipment/facilities failure
*
Maintaining site and grounds
*
Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
*
H&S knowledge with regular site inspections checks.
You’ll have:
*
A qualification or higher in plumbing or electrical engineering eg. City and Guilds level 2 or higher or equivalent
*
Proven experience in a maintenance or grounds role
*
Experience of supervising contractors
*
Experience of a wide range of power tools/ride on mowers/tractors and land management equipment
*
A full driving licence
