Health and Safety Assistant
Aylesbury
Salary £30,000 Per Annum
Full time – 37 hours per week
Fixed term contract to 31 March 2022
The Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust is a Buckinghamshire based housing association providing homes and services to local communities throughout the Vale of Aylesbury, we have around 7,200 homes. We pride ourselves on working closely with residents and surrounding communities to make sure we deliver high quality housing, homes and services. We are looking for a H&S Assistant to help us achieve our vision and goals.
The Role:
Work with and positively challenge managers and teams across the business to ensure the aid provision of a fully comprehensive and professional Health and Safety and Compliance service by supporting the Health and Safety Team in the management of all aspects of Health and Safety.
Provide direct support to the Compliance Manager, and wider support to the Trust in delivering Health and Safety compliance for the business.
Understand the Trust’s Health and Safety Framework to enable comprehensive cover during absence of the Compliance Manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
Educated to A-level or equivalent qualifications
Health & Safety training IOSH/NEBOSH qualification is desirable
Health & Safety awareness
DSE Risk Assessment training
Ability to reassess priorities in a re-active environment to ensure the needs of the business are met at all times
Financial Awareness
Experience in providing administrative support to teams
Excellent written and verbal communication
Aptitude for practical work
Intermediate knowledge of I.T. applications to include excel & word
Ability for manual handling
Ability to work unsupervised and apply initiative when required
Excellent organisational skills to include time and priority management adhering to deadlines
Ability to undertake specific projects
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
Use of a car and a valid driving licence
