Do you want to help make Milton Keynes a more dementia-friendly city? Have you got the drive to raise awareness and enable people with dementia to live well in a community which is working to become more dementia-friendly? This role is to support Milton Keynes to become dementia-friendly.
Communities Coordinator Responsibilities:
You will be approaching local organisations, groups and individuals and encouraging them to take action. You will be working with the council to support delivery of their action plan and working with other stakeholders to implement clear action plans that will enable Milton Keynes to become a place where people with dementia can live well.
The role involves supporting local communities to consult with people with dementia and carers on their priorities locally and to enable them to become self-sufficient in continuing this work. You will be promoting a better understanding of the condition across communities in order to reduce stigma and discrimination and promote independence for people living with dementia.
Communities Coordinator Requirements:
You will have experience of influencing others from a cross section of the community and be confident speaking to groups. You will be well-organised and flexible with good time management skills. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills. You will be able to travel across Milton Keynes.

Position: Dementia Friendly Communities Coordinator
Location: Milton Keynes
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £22,814 – £23,735 – actual per annum (depending on skills and experience) (+ London allowance of £3,600 if applicable)
