Salary: £21,450 Pro Rata Hours: 20-25 Hours per week

We are looking for a project coordinator to have key responsibility for leading and developing projects for a vital Children's charity that works across Herts, Beds, and Bucks. This outstanding charity was specifically set up to address the needs of a "lost generation" of 15-25-year-olds, with learning disabilities, mental health & emotional issues, young people leaving care and those at risk of exploitation/offending.
This Charity Project Coordinator role will be supported by the Senior Project Manager, to develop partnerships with Attendance Centres, Policing and Social Services together with schools, local football and sports clubs and Pupil Referral Units. You will support 20+ young people and deploy and support 30+ volunteer mentors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead your team of part-time volunteers/mentors to run effective and creative befriending and mentoring support sessions.
Work with young people to produce person centred development programmes, activity plans and outcome progressions for them. Monitor implementation and review.
Make and develop relationships and partnerships with local employers and agencies.
Ensure the delivery and development of services and community-based activities in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring good planning, risk assessment, evaluation and promotion/marketing of all activities, in line with effective safeguarding procedures.
Run after school and beyond school sessions and activities as the project develops.
Provide timely reports as required; attend development team and occasional Board meetings to report.
Required Skills and Abilities
Experience of working with young people and volunteers, with empathy and understanding of the needs, issues, and concerns of young people at risk.
Confident in delivery of presentations and lessons/workshops to young people using means appropriate to audience.
Some experience of Project Co-ordination and effective delivery of services/support.
IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel and PP. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Zoom would be useful.
Knowledge of the Children's Act and Commitment to Equal Opportunities.
Able to work flexibly and including occasional weekends as required.
Able to provide a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and a driver with access to own vehicle and no more than 3 points on licence.
