A Cook is required by a Nursing home based in the quiet attractive area of North Buckinghamshire village of Maids Moreton with the convenience of being one mile from the market town of Buckingham with its shops and local amenities.

The Nursing Home provides 32 beds for residents over the age of 65 who require general nursing and or dementia care.

Role Overview

To cook all meals for residents on time.
To prepare a four weekly menu.
Food Ordering.
Be flexible.
To ensure a good supply of food is held within the home which offers a choice of meals.
To ensure the kitchen and relevant areas are maintained safely and that health and safety is adhered to at all times.
To ensure kitchen staff are aware of the regulations regarding the kitchen and food preparation.
To ensure that meals are delivered on time.
To ensure that every step is taken to help eliminate cross contamination of food.
To record temperatures and maintain the efficiency of fridges and freezers.
To ensure that food temperatures are monitored and recorded.
To oversee the kitchen assistants and their responsibilities.
 Main Duties & Responsibilities

To maintain a professional manner at all times.
To be aware of health and safety issues and act safely at all times.
To be aware of and adhere to the policies and procedures in place.
To be competent in the completion of relevant records and documentation.
To maintain confidentiality at all times.
To provide varied and nutritional meals.
To provide special diets where required.
Ensuring that anybody entering the kitchen is authorised to do so and adheres to the policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience

Some experience required.
Meals are all basic homely foods.
Good organisational skills.
Have a caring attitude.
Working Hours:

Full time: Shift work, long and short days, every other weekend
