UK Parking Control have an exciting opportunity for a Warden Area Manager to join their team.
Location: Home counties Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, and Sussex
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 depending on experience + Company vehicle or car allowance Discretionary Profit Share Scheme bonus
Job Type: 5 days over 7 including weekends (min 2 weekends per month to be agreed with line manager) Shifts flexible to mirror warden working patterns. Responsibility for the out of hours emergency phone.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Warden Area Manager – The Role:
This is a regionally based role which will report into the Head of Warden Operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the wardens in their regions work to their maximum potential.
This role will be predominantly field based however visits to Head Office will be required.
Warden Area Manager – Key Responsibilities
– To manage and motivate wardens to achieve/exceed Budget
– To visit wardens in region and carry out active patrols (mirror warden shifts)
– To issue parking charges where necessary (wear UKPC warden uniform)
– To carry out warden training/retraining where necessary
– To carry out underperformance discussions with wardens and record action plans
– To provide excellent constructive written and verbal feedback to Head of Warden Operations
– To provide excellent constructive written and verbal feedback to wardens to follow up on all visits
– Analyse areas for improved productivity
– Ensure that sites are managed to maximum potential
– Visit and have knowledge of all sites in area
– Carry out spot checks on wardens
– Conducting probationary reviews with wardens
– Client visits when required
– Where required carry out warden monthly reviews in person
– Carry out probationary reviews with wardens in region (when required)
– Conduct Investigations in relation to misconduct or capability
– Escalate and manage performance concerns to Head of Warden Operations
– Prepare and send rotas to team on a weekly basis
– Prepare and send job vacancies to Head of Warden Operations
– Work with recruitment team to co-ordinate new warden training and rotas
– Ensure Parking Attendants maximise coverage by planning optimum routes
– To review and authorise/decline Parking Attendant holidays
– To manage Parking Attendant sickness and arrange cover
Warden Area Manager – You:
– A great communicator with a firm but fair approach
– Computer literate
– Clear DBS Check
– An interest in the industry with a willingness to learn and adapt
– Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic
– Must have full driving licence Excellent team building skills
– Ability to provide constructive feedback
– Able to take ownership and accountability when making decisions
– Positive attitude and resilient when faced with challenging and difficult client situations
– Flexible and adaptable approach
– Pro-active and capable of working on own initiative
– Must be willing to travel within region
– Thorough and persistent approach to work
Warden Area Manager – Skills & Experience:
– Must have previous experience of working within a Warden Team Leader role for a minimum of 3 months
– Experience of working within a fast paced environment with a desire to exceed expectations
– Previous management or Team Leader experience in the service sector
– Time management skills, with the ability to review, organise and prioritise
– To work both independently and as part of a team and manage change whilst adopting a positive attitude if faced with challenging situations.
– Excellent verbal and written skills.
– Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office applications
– Interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken or written requests
