To be assist in the running of the trade counter and assist with sales opportunities. To provide excellent customer service via phone, email and face-to-face. To assist with the sales cycle from start to finish and liaise with multiple departments including workshop, sales, despatch and goods in. To learn the responsibilities of a Trade Counter Operative including product identification, product assessment, market/industry knowledge and wider sales knowledge including business development.
**To be considered for this role I’m looking for someone one with Automotive Light Vehicle/Heavy Vehicle experience who understands the mechanical workings of motor vehicles**
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Day to day management of the trade counter sales segment.
* Assist customers with sales enquiries.
* To learn how to give a technical and engineering perspective on incoming enquiries.
* To assist in the generation and development of new customers/business in a range of segments.
* Ensure that the customer experience and their requirements are managed internally and externally.
* To ensure that enquiries, quotes and tenders are prepared and submitted internally for approval where appropriate and then on to the customer.
* To follow up all quotes in a professional and timely manner.
* Liaise with other sales staff undertaking similar activities and ensure the customer’s needs are met with the underlying objective of winning and maintaining as much business as possible.
* To contribute to internal sales meetings with a view to disseminating information within the team and engaging people with company objectives.
* To be aware at all times and collect as much marketing intelligence as possible while being aware of any new developments.
* To learn about sales performance by customer in the trade counter segment and to be able to understand sales and margin variances by year.
* To assist in the organisation of trade stands and attend and man said shows where applicable.
* To assist in costings for workshop product and establish BOM’s on Opera.
* To provide shop floor instructions of workshop product as and where appropriate.
* Have an input in to procurement providing feedback about the quality of materials being used in workshop processes.
Performance Standards (targets, objectives, etc):
* To meet and exceed the requirements of the Head of Sales & Marketing / Sales & Marketing Director / Technical Sales and Service.
* To take a key part in continuous customer experience improvements.
* Always looking for ways to increase profit and our customer portfolio
