Purpose of the role:
To work with the team to develop and perform the tests that will ensure our clients vehicles will be able to withstand the demands of exclusive customers. The test engineers have a wide skill set that helps them understand what to test, why it needs to be tested, and how to process, translate and relay critical data back to the team to create effective solutions and deliver a polished final product.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with development lead to create comprehensive plans that validate legislative, design, production, and customer requirements.
* Outline data acquisition requirements and oversee installation and operation to ensure high fidelity measurements.
* Perform vehicle tests within the building, locally, or remotely at testing facilities.
* Interface closely with software team to develop desirable vehicle calibration.
* Help troubleshoot vehicle at various locations.
* Assist development and design leads performing DFMEA updates and validation.
Skills:
* Demonstrated skills in the creation and execution of automotive test plans.
* Advanced knowledge and experience with vehicle communication architectures and tools (J1939, Vector, CANalyzer, etc).
* Ability to handle high-level programming for function development.
Attributes:
* Hands-on experience either in professional or personal environments (Personal projects, working with factory floor, etc).
* Experience working in small, collaborative environments.
* Ability to create and maintain their own momentum in workplace.
* Evidence of lateral thinking in agile environments.
* Good attitude and optimistic towards future.
* Strong work ethic and genuine humility.
Qualifications:
(Essential)
* Automotive background
* Valid UK/EU driving license
* 5+ years in highly relevant experience
(Desirable)
* EV-related automotive experience
* Experience with prototype vehicle development
