Our Client are an internationally based Automotive technology company with an ambitious goal to re-define and revolutionise the next generation of in-vehicle experience with the development of an industry leading Augmented Reality Head Up Display.

Using the innovative technology of phase only holography, they are making this a reality!

They have already assembled some of the world’s top scientists & engineers from worldwide renowned companies and due to the success and growth of their product development activities, they are now looking to invest in the support of an experienced Software Engineer – Embedded with particular focus on Head-Up Display technologies (HUD) and in developing bootloaders (bare metal).

This position is available on an initial 6 month contract basis, potentially rolling and is urgent!

On offer to the successful candidate is a highly competitive, albeit negotiable day rate.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develop new and enhance existing embedded software for HUD

· Analyse requirements, design, test and maintain embedded software

Required Skills:

Ideally educated to Master’s Degree level in Computer Science/Engineering with 10+ years of professional experience or equivalent experience
10+ years’ experience of developing low-level embedded software used in an Automotive environment
Strong in C/C++ programming skills
Experience developing bootloaders (bare metal) is essential
Good knowledge of operating system fundamentals and low level programming
Experience with Real Time RTOS environment (e.g. FreeRTOS)
Experience working with NXP devices (Cortex-M4 in particular)
Knowledge of microcontrollers and interface protocols including SPI, I2C, UART
Development of test and validation methods for embedded softwareDesirable Skills:

· Experience developing Windows applications (C#, C++ QT)

· Knowledge of UDS protocol

· Previous experience of working with automotive technology
