Alternate weeks of:
8:30am – 6pm
8am – 5:30pm
Alternate Saturdays 8:30 – 1pm
Our client is currently looking to recruit a Service Manager to join their team in Buckinghamshire.
The role involves:
• Working closely with the service advisor within the service reception department.
• Managing all aspects of organising the daily flow of work for vehicles booked in
• Communicating closely with the workshop manager and technicians on job statuses and with customers on work progress and ensuring vehicles are prepared and ready for collection on time
• The responsibility to support the company positioning on pricing points on parts and labour and ensure both are competitive and maximise profitability
• Maintaining a close relationship with parts suppliers and ensuring we obtain the best price and service levels possible
• Ensuring all non-stocked parts are ordered in good time ahead of booked work to maximise productivity
• Managing product and consumables stocks and ensuring availability at all times
• Working with the workshop manager to ensure we have sufficient staffing levels at all times, that the daily workflow plan is agreed and that maximum productivity and customer satisfaction is achieved
• Liaising with technicians to support their feedback on jobs in progress and that any additional works and/or parts required are dealt with and communicated effectively
• Ensuring the customer reception area projects a professional and welcoming environment, that all customers are greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival at the garage and that it is clear what work is required and when the vehicle is to be collected
• Responsible for ensuring all customers are communicated with throughout the day and that video evidence and written estimates of additional works required are provided at all times, with any additional works approved
• Ensuring all works are correctly invoiced and that vehicles are fully prepared for customers to collect
• Working closely with the service advisor to ensure a fantastic customer experience is delivered and that our reputation continues to be enhanced through 5 Star Reviews, awards and positive word-of-mouth endorsements
• Ensuring all vehicles that are left on site overnight are secured in the workshop or locked and safely stored
• Responsible for supporting the company’s marketing initiatives and developing new ways of generating demand for bookings in all areas of work through our various digital platforms, telephone communication, events and general marketing
• Responsibility to ensure courtesy car checks, work quality checks and good overall health & safety measures are maintained at all times
• Working with the management team to agree revenue and profit targets and develop the business plan to ensure the company continues to grow and develop its offer to customers in line with the changing aftermarket demands
• Having an overall, positive and organised approach to ensuring daily targets are achieved
The successful candidate:
• Ideally, you will have at least 5 years’ experience working within the automotive aftermarket in a service or senior technician / manager role
• Excellent customer service and organisational skills are pre-requisites. Technical / mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
• You will have the capability and willingness to solve problems and work under pressure.
• You will have excellent organisational skills and be capable of managing a fast paced and demanding environment
• You will have excellent all-round communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels to ensure positive outcomes are achieved at all times.
• You are a great team player and thrive on inspiring others to achieve and exceed their goals
• Using garage management and other relevant software to manage each job you are allocated and recording service and maintenance check sheets and advisory future works as necessary.
• Full, Clean UK Driving Licence with the right to work and live in the UK is essential.
• Computer Literate Microsoft Office
