Buyer / Purchaser, Automotive, Bedfordshire £200-£250 per day PAYE Umb 12 months +
The purchaser is responsible for the timely provision of goods and services to the business.
Ensuring that all aspects of Cost time Quality are aligned with business targets whilst identifying and mitigating any risks.
Buyer / Purchaser responsibilities:
Work with Suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely material provision for projects. Supporting technical discussions for product definition and leading commercial aspects (cost/ time/ quality).
Maintain product records to ensure MRP runs effectively
Prepare and issuing purchase orders and agreements
Expedite and project manage supplier timelines though to receipt of goods.
Support incoming goods inspection; liaising with systems team and/or product requestor
Use appropriate techniques to contain and resolve any quality issues and concerns.
Support BOM advanced pick activity to ensure that there are no shortages
Supplier evaluation using KPI’s and quality tools APQP/ FMEA/ PPAP
Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards through all activities.
Buyer / Purchaser requirements:
Required:
Good communication, numeracy and computer literacy with Office suite
Works with the mindset of continuous improvement
Experience and understanding of SQA tools used to manage risk APQP/ FMEA/PPAP.
Experience of purchasing and commercial processes
Background in manufacturing with ability to read 2D/3D drawings
Reasonable level of fitness to manage the occasional physical part of the job- light lifting
<10kg and moving parts from/ to shelving in a warehouse environment.
Desirable:
Experience in ISO9001 and IATF 16949 systems
Experience with Sage 200 and Sicon
